Waters Flow In CA And
Disaster Areas Get Help

“EMERGENCY MEASURES TO PROVIDE WATER RESOURCES IN CALIFORNIA AND IMPROVE DISASTER RESPONSE IN CERTAIN AREAS” – THE WHITE HOUSE
After visiting the North Carolina hurricane disaster area and the wild fire burn areas of Los Angeles, President Trump signed an Executive Order that same day on January 24th 2025; directing federal authorities to maximize water supplies to California by increasing water flows from Sierra Nevada Reservoirs to the Rivers and other sources, to provide immediate disaster assistance to these devastated areas.
The first two Sections of the Executive Order states:
“Section 1. Policy. For weeks, residents of the Los Angeles area have watched raging fires consume their homes, belongings, beloved pets, and childhood memories. Almost immediately, firefighters were unable to fight the blaze due to dry hydrants, empty reservoirs, and inadequate water infrastructure. Today, at least 28 people have lost their lives and thousands more have lost everything else, with some damage estimates calculating hundreds of billions of dollars in damage. This tragedy affects the entire Nation, so it is in the Nation’s interest to ensure that California has what it needs to prevent and fight these fires and others in the future. Therefore, it is the policy of the United States to provide Southern California with necessary water resources, notwithstanding actively harmful State or local policies. And it is the policy of the United States to assist Americans in disaster areas through responsive policies that more effectively empower them to rebuild and regain their livelihoods.”
“Section 2 (partial). Overriding Disastrous California Policies. (a) The Secretary of Defense, the Attorney General, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of Commerce, the Secretary of the Interior, and the Secretary of Agriculture shall expeditiously take all measures, consistent with all applicable authorities, to ensure adequate water resources in Southern California. Each shall report to me within 15 days on all authorities, including emergency authorities, available to ensure, require, maintain, or use infrastructure necessary to fight and prevent massive wildfires in Southern California”.
On Friday morning, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began increasing the flow of water from the Terminus and Schafer Dams in Tulare County, CA, into a river channel that also feeds farmland areas in the San Joaquin Valley. President Trump stated on social media that the U.S. Military had “TURNED ON THE WATER” [In California]. During his visit with devastated homeowner and LA Officials, President Trump vowed to “Open up the valves and pumps”.
According to the Los Angeles Times in a recent press release, “The Army Corps of Engineers is “conducting controlled water releases” from the two dams, said Tyler Stalker, a spokesperson for the Corps in Sacramento. “The action is being coordinated with local officials. The releases are within the capacity of the downstream waterways.”
President Trump met with California’s Governor Newsom during his first term as President and warned Newsom about the importance of Forest Management and the need to harness the waters from the Pacific Northwest instead of dumping them into the Pacific Ocean, allowing them to flow to the Southern California region to eliminate any wildfire threats and help the farmers thrive.
January 31, 2025 – President Trump posted the following message on X, “Photo of beautiful water flow that I just opened in California. Today, 1.6 billion gallons and, in 3 days, it will be 5.2 billion gallons. Everybody should be happy about this long fought Victory! I only wish they listened to me six years ago – There would have been no fire!”
