GREENLAND

For many years, U.S. Presidents as far back as the 1860’s, members of Congress and Military officials have all expressed the need for obtaining Greenland as part of our National Security, so the idea is nothing new. In 2019, during President Trump’s first term in office, he said that buying Greenland was strategically interesting. And now, more recently before and after taking office on January 20, 2025, he expressed a sincere interest in making the Artic region a part of the United States as he looks to protect America from Russia and China. Not only are there more new shipping routes opening up in the arctic region, but Greenland also has many natural resources that the United States could utilize to enhance Greenland and insure the safety and security of America.

On January 7th, 2025, Donald Trump Jr. visited Greenland and was well received as he delivered his Father’s message to the Citizens of Greenland saying, “We’re going to treat you well.” As Donald Trump Jr. greeted Greenlanders, many shouted out their enthusiasm and excitement for becoming a part of the United States. Donald Trump Jr said he was there for a quick daylong trip to shoot some fun video content for podcasting, adding, “Greenland is beautiful!!!”

That same day, then President-Elect Trump said in a Truth Social Post: “Don Jr. and my Reps landing in Greenland. The reception has been great. They, and the Free World, need safety, security, strength, and PEACE! This is a deal that must happen. MAGA. MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!” Following his son's arrival in Nuuk, Greenland, then President-elect Trump posted several images of Trump Jr standing beside people wearing red Make America Great Again hats. It’s clear most Greenlanders embrace the idea of becoming part of America, while Greenland and Denmark officials have recently shown to be peacocking their positions.

Greenland is the world’s largest island, 80% covered in ice, and home to 56,000 residents of largely indigenous Intuit people. Even though Greenland gained self –governing with its own Parliament in 1979, it is mostly dependent upon Denmark for its economy and Copenhagen still controls Greenland’s foreign and defense policy. King Frederik X of Denmark has been asserting the kingdom’s rights to Greenland as well as the Faroe Islands, while Greenland’s Prime Minister Múte Egede on the other hand has calling for Greenland’s independence and to break free from "[Denmark’s] shackles of colonialism". Prime Minister Egede went on to say that “Greenland will never be for sale.”

The Island is also home to a large U.S. Military Base and an American Space facility. The Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederisksen said that the United States is one of Denmark’s most important allies and the future of Greenland would be decided by Greenland.

A treaty between the United States and Denmark and Greenland outlines a deal in which the U.S. purchased a cluster of Caribbean islands from Denmark for $25 million, along with the U.S. base, giving Washington say over Greenland and the territory’s defense between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Many wonder if President Trump can actually purchase Greenland and what other options might he have to protect the United States in the Arctic front. Officials have reported that the President’s option include: Purchase of Greenland, A military invasion, which President Trump has not ruled out, and Strike a deal.

The United States currently has deals in the western Pacific Islands, called Compacts of Free Association, which provides exclusive military access and the right to determine which other nations can base their troops on these islands as it would in Greenland. This type of agreement would allow the U.S. a stronger foothold in the arctic region while pushing back on Chinese access to Arctic shipping routes and Russia’s air and naval bases in Murmansk, on the nearby Kola Peninsula.

Jack Detsch recently reported on Politico.com that: Former National Security Council Chief of Staff during President Trump’s first Term, Alex Grey, said, “Denmark understands that Greenland is going to get independence, [however] they understand that they don’t have the ability to defend Greenland post-independence.” Grey went on to say, “It’s not a one-size fits all and we have precedent for doing a lot of options”.

Grey went on to say, “Preventing Russia and China from exploiting Greenland is in everyone’s interest. The Chinese are experts at exploiting these developing, lightly populated countries and using them for their own purposes, [and Denmark] understands that a Greenland that’s susceptible to coercion is not in their interest or our interest.”

During a press conference, while President Trump announced Ken Howery as his nominee to serve as Ambassador to Denmark, he stated, ““For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity.”

PANAMA CANAL

In recent weeks and after being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, President Trump stated that Panama has for a very long time, been charging the United States excessive fees and allowing China to ultimately control the Panama Canal. The Panama Canal is one of the world’s most important waterways, and has stated that he is going to take back control over the Panama Canal, since Panama has breached the agreement with the United States. It would be wise for Panama to listen and offer the United States an immediate end to these illegal actions and allow the U.S. more oversight, otherwise face the consequences. President Trump and the United States of America will no longer be taking advantage by other countries.

CANADA, MEXICO, CHINA

On November 29, 2024, then President-Elect Donald Trump met with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau at Mar-A-Lago in Florida to discuss among other things, the Northern Border Crisis, the influx of fentanyl and other drugs flowing through Canada in addition to the massive trade deficit the U.S. has with Canada. Trudeau is known for being an extreme socialist liberal who has always opposed President Trump, however, he had no idea who he was dealing with when he sat down for dinner. It was evident that when President-Elect Trump was met with Trudeau’s egotistical and arrogant behavior, Trump began to make jokes in front of the cameras and other guests at the table calling him “Governor” Trudeau and referring to Canada as the 51st State.

For several months now, President Trump gave fair warning to both Canada and Mexico, that the United States will no longer be taken advantage of and that if both countries do not put an immediate and complete stop to the illegal immigration, crime and drug trafficking coming into the United States from their respective countries, he would impose a 25% Tariff on all imported products from both Canada and Mexico.

So Canada and Mexico, listen up! President Trump is a man of his word, and on February 1, 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order imposing and immediate 25% Tariff on all imported products from Canada and Mexico, in addition to a 10% Tariff on China. Promise made, Promises Kept.
