83% Americans Want Voter Id/Citizen Laws
Even 71% of Liberals Favor Voter ID Requirement
In a report by Mackenzie Web on Patriotfetch.org: “A new poll indicates that support for photo identification laws at the polls has reached unprecedented levels in the United States. According to a recent poll in 2026 by CNN, an impressive 83% of Americans now support requiring voters to show a photo ID, a significant increase that includes 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats” “CNN anchor emphasized the overwhelming public backing, stating, “You’ll notice on all of [the polling], it’s all north of 75%.” These encouraging statistics demonstrate that many Americans, regardless of political affiliation, believe in verifying identity at the ballot box. Interestingly, this increased support has been bolstered by a surprising public figure: Nicki Minaj. The rapper took to social media to voice her opinion, questioning the very notion of debating voter ID. She stated, “What sensible forward thinking cutting edge leading nation is having a DEBATE on whether or not there should be VOTER ID?!?!!!!” Minaj’s assertive stance cut through the usual celebrity dialogue surrounding political issues, resonating with a wide audience.”
The SAVE America Act is a proposed federal law requiring proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote and a photo ID to cast a ballot in federal elections.
The Voter ID bill was introduced by Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) in early 2026. In a recent hearing, Representative Roy said, “We cannot allow noncitizens to dilute the power of the vote.” Citizenship status determines eligibility for voting, holding certain government offices, and access to full legal protections.
Of course there will always be those who have opposing views like the Brennan Center for Justice who flouts unsubstantiated numbers stating that 2.6 million Americans lack government-issued photo ID and 21 million Americans do not have documents proving citizenship “readily available” saying it would be a disadvantage to low income and minority individuals. Well could that be that those 21 million people in the U.S. they speak of are illegal aliens and specifically those who should not have the right to vote? And could it be that the low income individuals you speak of have no interest in voting? Whenever there is an opposing liberal view with no real argument to be had, they always refer to minorities and play what they call the “race card”. Americans are sick and tired of hearing about race and division. We are one people and one Nation under God. All men are created equal.
This is a ridiculous argument against the majority of Americans who believe that a secure electoral process is vital to the security of our nation. There are approximately 314 million U.S. Citizens residing in the United States. In a report released by the U.S. Census Bureau and posted on April 30, 2025 by Census.gov there were 174 million (or 73.6%) people of the citizen voting-age population registered to vote with 154 million people (65.3%) who actually voted in the 2024 Presidential election. Government assistance is readily available to anyone in U.S. who wishes to obtain proof of citizenship and a valid photo ID or register to vote.
Representative Roy stated: “The American people are clear: they support Voter ID and agree that only U.S. citizens should vote in our elections.”
And in a recent post on Truth Social, President Trump stated “America’s Elections are Rigged, Stolen, and a Laughing stock all over the World. We are either going to fix them, or we won’t have a Country any longer.”
