Dan Meuser is a conservative business leader who brings his experience as a proven job creator to Congress. The son of a police officer and a wonderful mom who balanced family and work, Dan grew up in a middle-class family and attended the New York Maritime University as well as Cornell University on a Navy ROTC scholarship.

Dan joined Pride Mobility Products in 1988, a small healthcare products manufacturer that he helped grow into the worldwide industry leader in power mobility products. Dan served as President of Pride USA for seven years.

In 2011, Governor Tom Corbett nominated Dan to serve as Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Revenue. There, he worked to transform the Department of Revenue from a traditional tax collection agency into a taxpayer advocacy organization.

Dan’s leadership of the Department was recognized by the Council on State Taxation for the most dramatic improvement of any department of revenue in the country, going from a D rating to an A- during his tenure.

In 2019, Dan Meuser was sworn in as a member of the 116th Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District. Congressman Meuser currently serves on the House Financial Services and Small Business Committees. He also currently serves as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access for the Small Business Committee. Congressman Meuser is also a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, the Republican Study Committee, theBorder Security Caucus, the Congressional Coal Caucus.

Under Dan’s leadership, his Congressional office staff is focused on legislation that benefits Pennsylvania, best-in-class constituent services, and a high level of interactive communication with the 9th District. Dan and his wife of 30 years, Shelley, have two daughters and a son, and live in Luzerne County, PA.

In a letter to The Morning Call in July of 2023 and posted on mcall.com, Meuser explains why he is endorsing President Trump in 2024: The past two and a half years under the Biden administration have been damaging to our nation’s national security, economic strength and public safety.

Since the Biden administration took office, they had the U.S. give up in Afghanistan, which caused the loss of American lives and resulted in leaving behind $80 billion in American military equipment that is now being used by the Taliban. This disgraceful episode in American history sent a message to every potential adversary in the world, including China, that the Biden administration has no interest in maintaining the United States’ status as a world-power — and in so doing, a vacuum of leadership was created.

The Biden administration has caused a disaster at our southern border. On a daily basis, death, rape and violence take place. The cartels get very rich on illegal drugs and human trafficking. Much of Mexico has become a gangland due to the Biden border policies.

The U.S. economy has been rattled by extremely excessive spending, and assault measures taken on the American energy industry have resulted in the highest level of inflation in 40 years. Our economy in turn has experienced interest rate hikes more rapidly than ever before.

American people and small businesses are under heightened threat from the crime on our city streets. And the scandals that continue to mount from the Biden White House are stunningly egregious. Equally astonishing is the highly irregular and dubious actions of the Biden DOJ, FBI, IRS and SEC — instilling concern and fear in the hearts of our citizens. And remarkably, the Biden campaign slogan for 2024 is “Let’s Finish the Job.”

Our country cannot withstand four more years of a Biden administration. We must correct course. I’ve had countless ambassadors and foreign ministers tell me directly that the world needs the U.S. to lead, to be strong and, yes, to correct course. And, more importantly, as the representative of Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District, the vast majority of Pennsylvanians voice this consistently.

There is a better way. We can be there again in a three- to four-year period with the right leadership. In 2019, the world was at peace, a favorable trade agreement was just signed with China, and Russia was kept in check. The Abraham Accords were signed, which was the most comprehensive peace treaty ever in the Middle East. ISIS was wiped out, our military was strong and proud, and the Space Force was created — an absolutely essential new branch of our national defense.

The southern border was orderly and secure. The U.S. was not only energy independent but energy dominant. Gasoline was $2.38 a gallon. Inflation was a nonfactor. Interest rates were 2.9%. Wages were up and taxes were down. There was a renewed sense of patriotism, which most Americans find very inspiring. We can get there again.

This is why the only four-year solution in 2024 to making America as great as it needs to be is by electing Donald J. Trump. Former President Trump has proven his policies, plans and ability to execute work for the vast majority if not all Americans. Trump has no special interests influencing him. His only special interest is the U.S.A. Trump realizes, as Ronald Reagan did, that a strong America is essential to the well-being of the entire free world.

I have gotten to know Trump personally. I firmly believe in my heart and head that his sole focus is only on making America strong. Just recently, I was with Trump. Upon entering his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, he exclaimed with delight that the Longshoremen were having dinner at the club following their golf event. He had me follow him into a room filled with over 200 Longshoremen, and the room immediately went wild. Everyone was on their feet and various chants like “U.S.A., U.S.A.” and “four more years” broke out.

Many in the room may have been Democrats. While they were very much so cheering for the man, Donald Trump, they were also cheering for their country to get on the right course. This is why I and many of my congressional colleagues have endorsed and are supporting Donald J. Trump for president.

Dan Meuser is the Republican representative for Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District.
